Social Innovation Creators' Academia (SICA) is an innovative student platform under the Yonsei Center for Social Innovation (YCSI) acting as an umbrella to foster social innovators, both individuals and teams.  

Period poverty is the lack of access to sanitary products, menstrual hygiene education, toilets, hand washing facilities, and or waste management.

Sumin Yi and Jaewon Lee were interested in this issue and selected it as their research topic.

Through having weekly meetings for a semester, they developed how they would raise an awareness of period poverty and bring positive effects in real life.

As period poverty is not a well-known topic to some people living in South Korea, they decided to make web comics to make it more familiar. 

At the end of the Conference, our team was awarded the 

ChangeMaker Award.
