What is Our Solution?
ICT Application (GSIS)
The project will provide educational devices equipped with an application that both teaches and evaluates the student’s progress. Through the educational application (Classting), the project is expected to build the fundamental knowledge of sanitation and family health divided into 9 chapters as shown in the curriculum. The project emphasizes the outreach to not only young girls but also young boys in order to eliminate gender disparities in education and kindle a cultural shift to create an open discussion of these issues.

The pilot project targets 100 middle school students in the Philippines. These students will be given a mobile application that will be limited solely for educational purposes. The participants are expected to study and understand the general health-related materials uploaded in the application and solve quizzes for each of the chapters. The performance and average study time of each student will be measured through the application. The collected data will be analyzed through econometric methods and big data analysis. The changes in the physical conditions of the participants will also be measured by general health checkups to map the progress of the physical development of the participants.

The duration of screen time, application usage, general information, and other useful data will be provided by statistics collected through the use of the application. Furthermore, the educational application “Classting” allows the researchers to track the performance, average study time, strengths, weaknesses, and other quantitative data of each participant. Data collected through the application and physical tests would then be quantitatively analyzed through big data analysis and econometric methodologies.
Sanitary Kit (IGEE)

The Sanitary Kit will be provided with the mobile applications containing the ICT Health Education application. The Sanitary Kit is composed of three major contents: a brochure that summarizes the key points of the curriculum, stickers, and various sanitary items. The Kit is meant to educate and provide necessary resources within the curriculum. Throughout the Kit, students will become more familiar with two major areas: Sanitation and Family Health.
